Toddlers & TiANTRUMS

One things for sure, round here we ain’t got no figurative tiaras. Sure we got plenty of playtime make believe tiaras for dress up and imaginative purposes. But the figurative, elegance filled household of toddlers & tiaras we are not.

As an example I will share just from today’s events. All the toddlers were allotted board game time this AM. They were playing “Hungry hungry hippos, unicorn edition”. All was going well. That is until Gabe decided to walk into the room. The simple act of entering the room lead to a certain miss TrūLee doodle psycho pants dramatically tossing the game (think Jesus flipping tax collectors tables) across the room yelling “I WANT TO PLAY WITH GABE!!!”

Later in the evening, the wife and I were relaxing in the living room, when Moose decided to topple the table holding mommies newly acquired soda, in a styrofoam circle K cup mind you, to the floor. I saw the look of defeat and terror on Raes face as it crashed and splashed all over the place. Followed by Moose “Oh man, torry (think sorry with a “t”) mommy, torry torry torry”. This ain‘t his first rodeo. By rodeo I mean catastrophe caused by his inability to focus on one thing at a time.

Yes this is life at the Humphrey tribe estate. One instant of absolute glorious awesome joy followed by disruptive chaotic terrors.

As my mom would often sing to us “Que Será, Será, whatever will be will be.” Legit one of the most accurate phrases that encompasses our family and outlook all at once.

BREATHE MOMMA BREATHE.

I say momma as she is the one who wrestles the chaos into manageable (or so we like to pretend) pieces 89% of the time as I’m off gallivanting about “installing” security and making that oh so needed paper control mechanisms.

So, to bring this rant style nonsense filled essay/article to a close, I shall simply say this.

Remember that God never really said He won’t give you more than you can handle. Nope, BUT, He will never leave you alone to deal with it. We often find ourselves biting off more than we can chew or even fit in our mouths. In other words freewill at its finest.

Don’t forget to bring Him along, so that He can throw you a rope when the waters rise and you're too tired to doggy paddle.

Every so often you’ll slow down long enough to see that your obedience resulted in overwhelming blessings. SLOW DOWN TO ENJOY IT.
